Boat Lines...    

Design: Designed by Angelo Lavranos, similar to Nicholson 31'.  Built in South Africa in 1983. 

Design details: Harmony is a full-keeled (lead) ocean cruiser.

Designer: Angelo Lavranos, designer of many St. Francis cats, as well as other makes and models of boats.  We have the detailed blueprints of the boat, sent to us by Angelo Lavranos.

LOA: 31 feet (9.45 m)

Draft: 4' 10" (1.52 m)

Beam: 10 feet (3.04 m)

Displacement: 14000 lbs (6350 kg)

Sails: Mainsail (3 reef points) only lightly used and kept in sailbag.  Headsails include storm jib and light air genoa, but roller furling just installed in 2008.  All sails only lightly used and kept in sailbag.

Rig:  NEW February 2008 Harken Cruiser series roller furling.  NEW February 2008 ALL standing rigging, ALL running rigging (every line on the boat is new).

Topsides and Hull:  2004 Awlgrip and non-skid.  Regular bottom jobs.  All bronze thru-hull fittings, thru-bolted.  2004 UV resistant tinted plexiglass windows.

Anchoring: NEW February 2008 Lewmar bow roller.  Primary anchor 35 lb CQR with ~150 ft 5/8" BBB chain.  Fortress FX-23.

Engine: Refit 2003 with Yanmar 30HP 3GM30F engine.  Engine is about 6 years old, removed from a Caliber sailboat who wanted more HP. It was checked and "rebuilt" at Yanmar before being installed.  Total use hours since delivery from Yanmar is about ~100 hrs. New Prop for engine ~2004.

Deisel Tankage: 30 gallons

Water Tankage: 47 gallons fiberglass tank, 25 gallons flexible tank

Batteries: 525 AH NEW AGM battery bank installed Feb 2008.  65 AH NEW AGM starter battery installed Feb 2008.

Electrical: Balmar high output charger and regulator (120A) with temp controlled charging.  Heart 20 Marine Charger/Inverter (100A auto-charger and 2kW inverter).  Link 1000 controller interfaced with Heart inverter. Measures V, A, t, and all AH in and out of bank, charge history, temp-regulated charging, etc.  High intensity LED reading lights in V-berth and LED bow lights.  Resettable breaker box for all key electrical (not fuses).  All new electrical wiring in mast as of February 2008.

Other Nav Station items:  VHF, Radio/CD player with built in Stereo speakers.

Steering:  Tiller steering--VERY user-friendly and creates a lot of space in the cockpit.  Aries 3 wind vane installed.  Navtec tiller autopilot installation with spare (TP-30s) [+ remote included].

Cockpit:  2 propane tanks installed in external locker, S-steel Magma outdoor grill.  NEW March 2008 close weave mesh sand-colored closed cell float foam cockpit cushions.  Teak grate outside designed to assemble from floor to flush-mounting with seats to make a HUGE berth out of the cockpit.  Head clearance from cockpit floor to boom 6'2'' with main up.

Head:  NEW March 2008 25 Gal waste tank.  Head completely rebuilt & 1 new sanitation hose installed Feb 2008.  NEW pull-out sink in head.

Cabins: NEW March 2008 Ultraleather cushions throughout.  Dinette area features a fold-over drop-down teak table to make a double berth out of the dinette, opposite a single settee berth (these berths have lee cloths).  Sizeable V-berth forward, door on head can separate this cabin from the remainder of the interior.  Quarterberth serves as storage area and seat for chart table / nav station.

Galley: U-shaped galley to port next to companionway.  Plenty of storage beneath counter space as well as behind counter with smoked Lexan (see-through) cabinets.  Double-burner gimballed stove and oven runs on propane.  Double sink with foot-pumped seawater and freshwater.  Well-insulated icebox.

Storage: And there is plenty!  In the saloon there are separate storage hatches behind and beneath each settee.  In addition, there are louvred cabinets and fiddled bookshelves above and behind the settees.  The lazarette in the cockpit is simply cavernous.  Storage locker in head.  Fiddled shelves over v-berth.  Shelving over nav station.

Dinghy:  3.5 HP 2 stroke Mercury engine new 2005 - 50 hours use.  "The Dink" 8' fiberglass dinghy - fits nicely upside down on bow of boat.
